We welcomed our BA5 events back into 2022 with a bang! The evening was a celebration and showcase of local business, food, tourism, and hospitality in Hawke’s Bay.

Hosted by Scenic Hotel Te Pania in the newly renovated Curve Restaurant and Bar. Attendees were invited to network and reconnect after a very long break from events, with a beverage of their choice served from behind the Curve bar.

Following a welcome from Hawke’s Bay Chamber CEO Karla Lee, Katie Silcock, General Manager of the Scenic Hotel Te Pania took the floor. Katie spoke to the exceptional facilities available at the hotel, describing The Curve Restaurant; accommodation; corporate spaces; and how they were one of the only ‘dog-friendly’ tourism providers in the area. Katie also discussed the journey they have been on through the rollercoaster ride of Covid-19 and the challenges they have been faced with in the tourism sector.

Mick Yaun, Assistant Manager of Scenic Hotel Te Pania, provided small group tours of the facilities throughout the evening. Groups were able to view one of the hotel's Pacific View rooms, conference facilities, and boardroom.

To wrap up the presentation side of the night chef Michael Farrell delivered delicious plates of tapas for attendees to enjoy, from beautifully pink lamb served with an olive tapenade topping to lemon curd and shortbread these plates were ‘to die for’.

It was very apparent throughout the evening that everyone was happy to be out and back attending an event. It was refreshing to be face-to-face, networking and discussing business.

Thank you to Scenic Hotel Te Pania for hosting such a memorable event to kick off our BA5’s for 2022, and to everyone who attended the event. These events are integral to the business community and are such a great way to continue to support local.

We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next BA5 hosted by Hartley & Associates. Keep an eye out for details on our events calendar.
