Tim Sandall -  Pan Pac Forest Products Ltd

Pan Pac is an integrated forest product company that specializes in the sustainable production of logs, pulp and lumber. Established in 1971, we continue to grow, process and deliver quality radiata products to both our domestic and international markets.

As General Manager of Pan Pac’s Forests Division Tim has responsibility for trading and transporting approximately two million tonnes of logs annually. Critical to the success of this operation is:

• Protecting our people and the environment from harm,
• Meeting our lumber and pulp division log requirements,
• Optimizing the utilization and growth of our forestry assets,
• Leading and developing a professional and innovative leadership team with a large and diverse contractor workforce.

Prior to this role, Tim spent 12 years as Pan Pac’s Strategic Planning Manager for the wider Pan Pac group, playing an important role in setting and implementing the growth and direction of Pan Pac. During this time, he facilitated many business and investment studies across all three Pan Pac operations: Pulp, Lumber and Forests.

With 37 years of experience in the New Zealand Forestry sector, Tim has been fortunate to work across all levels of the industry’s operational supply chain including; securing land and trees, planting and growing tree crops, planning, engineering, harvesting, sales and marketing. At the same time, he has developed a sound understanding of solid wood processing, international logistics, mechanical pulp and lumber markets.

With leadership and business skills coupled with a natural empathy for people, the community and the environment Tim provides insight and experience to the wider Hawkes Bay and New Zealand Forestry sector.

He is passionate about the sustainable growth of the Hawkes Bay economy and when not working enjoys family times and sailing.
